  • Looking for two brothers on census.

    Hi

I am hoping these two brothers can be found on census, seperate or together - John Price Nicholls bc1810 (bapt 1810) and William Price bc 1809, (bapt 1809) both Totnes, Devon. They may have stayed in Devon or moved to Middlesex/London.

Thanks for any help that can be given,

    regards,

    treesa

Would it be this one in 1851? The birth place is given as Exeter though, so maybe not.

    Class: HO107; Piece: 1869; Folio: 347; Page: 3; GSU roll: 221017.

1861. Still on his own with a female servant. His middle name is given as Plimsaul. He has still the same occupation of broker. So that can't be him after all. Drat!

I found John and William's baptisms on IGI for the date you gave and it gives his parents as Peter Nicholls and Ann.
Do you know what Peter did for a living? If he was a tea dealer, I've found his parents in 1841 and in 1851 in London but neither of the boys you are looking for are with them.

1841 Class: HO107; Piece 677; Book: 15; Civil Parish: St Marylebone; County: Middlesex; Enumeration District: 13; Folio: 11; Page: 16; Line: 3; GSU roll: 438793.

Do you know what John and William did for a living?

Thanks very much GallowayLass for looking.

I don't know what John or William did for a living, but you correctly found their parents.

You will have a better idea that the ones you found were correct or not as I haven't got access to census to check it out unfortunately.

I haven't been able to find a marriage or death for them either.

There is a John P on ancestry bc1807, living in Devon, but can't see full details to see where he was born.

Looks like another dead end again!!

              1851 census.
