  • John Pote

    Hello all

I know this is going to be a long shot but can anybody find a John Pote married to a Mary on the 1841 census?

John and Mary would have been born about 1784ish and Im pretty certain Maty would have been born in Gloucestershire (perhaps Minchinhampton/Stroud)

    Any help would be fantastic.

I can't see them on the 1841 - Pote looks like a prime candidate for mistranscription to me!!

Im not sure where they were to be truthful.

Im just hoping there might be a likely couplee to see if anything matches that may lead to a discovery.

They may even be be deceased by then but Im not sure.

John's son William (possible son) became a Clockmaker and Watchmaker,Goldsmith and Umbrella maker, so its possible the occupation may match also.
