    Hello all

Ive been going over my Pote family once again and Ive decided to look into my first Pote ancestor William Pote who was born c1807 in Bristol.

Now somebody posted on one of my threads a while back with a possible match to my Williams birth.
It was the only one they could find and it stated - William Pote - 30th December 1806 at St James, Bristol
    Son of John & Mary

Now I looked on the IGI and couldnt find the birth but I did find a marriage for a John Pote to a Mary Howell on the 19 AUG 1805 Minchinhampton, Gloucester, England.

How do you think I can go about confirming or dismissing this info for m Pote family?

    Many thanks

    Danny

I've no advice on whether the marriage is the one you want or not, but thought you might like to know that the details of the Minchinhampton marriage are confirmed by the transcription on the Glos FHS Marriage index CD. It's the only Pote entry I can find on the Baptisms, Marriages and Burials CDs, although unfortunately the baptisms and burials listings don't begin until 1813.

Sorry I can't help more than that.

      Hiya Scuda

Thats what makes me sway towards them being the correct birth and marriage for my Potes as they seem the only one's.
