I am looking for a Uncle & Aunt Frederick W Tinsley and wife Mary, they should be in Southwark, They were the Pearly King & Queen.
I cannot find a Birth,Marriage or Death for them
Hi Leicestershirelass
I am begging to wonder if they either did not marry or married abroad
They have two sons Frederick Patrick Tinsley in March Q 1922 and William in March Q 1924. Both with Ramswell as mothers name.
William appears to have been mistranslated in June Q 1919 probably a wrong page no. Patrick was killed in WW2 1943 in Italy
There is an odd coincidence with both boys
March Q 1922
Frederick Patrick Tinsley & Frederick P McGoven Both mothers Ramswell, Both have the same reg. No. Southwark 1d 211.
March Q 1924
William Tinsley & William McGoven Both mothers Ramswell, Both have the same reg. No. Southwark 1d 70
Mary McGoven (Ramswell) Married 1912 to William McGoven
As Fredk W Tinsley (Uncle Fred) + Mary are mentioned on pearlykingjim's website he may be able to answer some of your questions - bless him he even gives his email addy; pearlykingjim@yahoo.co.uk
maybe Fredk was Mary's second husband ??
it may also be worth contacting 'Southwark' Registry Office to try and find solve the Tinsley/McGoven mystery
Following from your other thread that I replied to today, it reminded me of this. William McGovern and Mary Ramswell had a daughter Mary Elizabeth Susan McGovern, born 1914 in Lambeth:
Births Mar 1914
MCGOVERN Mary E S Ramswell Lambeth 1d 482
She is listed on William's pension records as their daughter. So could this be the Mary who married Frederick Tinsley in 1939? (i.e. it was her mother's name that was Ramswell, not hers!):
Name: Mary E McGovern
Name: Frederick W Tinsley
Date of Registration: Apr-May-Jun 1939
Registration district: Southwark
Volume Number: 1d
Page Number: 127
... or, on the other hand - maybe this is in fact the marriage that you're looking for, i.e. maybe they waited until 1939 until Mary Ramswell's 1st husband William had died?
