  • New - Welsh and Australian records on FMP

    Just had an emai FMP

"We are pleased to announce that all 13 Welsh counties are now available on our sister site 1911census.co.uk. These records contain a total of over 2.4 million individuals, and over a million households."

"New memorial inscriptions dating from 1131
We’ve just added over 319,000 monumental inscription records - the inscriptions on the burial headstone - for the county of Cornwall to our Parish Records Collection. These new records cover the period 1131-2007, which means that findmypast.com now holds some of the oldest parish records available anywhere online"
    "Australian records arrive at findmypast.com
Australia and Great Britain share a similar culture and in many cases the same ancestral lines. We’ve just added over 863,000 Australian records to help you in your search for ancestors on the other side of the world.

    * Convict arrivals in New South Wales (1788-1842): the details of 97,797 convicts who arrived in New South Wales – over half of all the convicts who were shipped to Australia between 1788 and 1868. Search in the convict arrival records now
    * Names in Government Gazettes, Victoria (1858-1900): an index of over 461,000 records from notices on a wide range of subjects, including land leases and law and order, printed in the Victorian Government Gazette.
    * Cemetery Burials and Memorial Inscriptions for Victoria (1835-1997): index of over 185,000 records, built from transcriptions of cemetery memorials and burial registers. It covers 197 cemeteries in Victoria, plus some in other Australian states.
    * Victoria funeral notices (1981-1997): index of funeral notices from the Melbourne Herald Sun, containing over 119,000.

I rather think they are. There was one specific record I'd already found - but failed to note the source. On FMP it has neither more nor less than I already had.
