Can someone alter the colour please?

Could some kind body please take away the silver grey background (and the shadow behind the right ear) and replace it with white.

The OH needs passport sized pics but not actually official passport quality. I've managed to crop and resize the pic but I'm totally flummoxed by Elements 5. Every time I use the magnetic lasso as per instructions I found on the web, it goes horribly wrong.
