  • Ancestry WW1 look up please

I've recently let my subscription lapse, as my family research is at a standstill, but I've recently found the grave of a WW1 soldier in my local churchyard & I've been doing a bit of research to find out who he was.
The grave isn't on the CWWG site, I've found his death registered at Woolwich in Sep q 1917, & I've found him in the census on findmypast, but was hoping there might be further info on Ancestry WW1 records eg.the National Roll or soldiers that died in the Great War.

The name on the grave is W. S. Pauley,(William Sidney), but he seems to have been registered as Sidney William, & is Sidney W Pauley in the census.

    Many thanks,
    ~ Louise ~

Many thanks for the replies...especially finding him on the CWGC site...does that mean his grave is under their care?
Would anyone know how I would find where he was wounded?

He's also in Nationall Roll of the Great War. It says that he was wounded at Arras and died as a result of his injuries. His address was 40 Davis Rd, Acton, W3 (he's listed as SW Pauley!)

That's great Ann....his name was Sidney William Pauley, but it seems to have got switched at some point.
He's not my family, but the grave seems as if its never visited, & is tucked away among some trees, it makes me sad.
