i'm hating my morton family at the moment, especially because they are so elusive, and more kids appear on 1911 every time you find one!!

i have stephen morton born on 23 aug 1837, ch.30 nov 1843 st anne soho, westminster. son of richard william morton, a coach trimmer and mary wyatt.

his parents married in 1828, lambeth. i have their record on order.
richard was a possible son of stephen morton and anne evans married in 1800.

stephen is at home in 1841, at crown st, westminster.
    ref- ho107, piece 730, book 3.

in 1851 he is still at home with his family, but they moved to newington.
    ref-ho107, piece 1561, folio 730, page 45.

i can't see a likely death reg, or find him in the census. i have thought of emmigration, but have not found any. can someone give a lending hand?

Not having much luck - the only thing I can find is this marriage, with Marylebone linking to his place of birth as give on the 1851 census.

        Marriages Dec 1853
        Baker Sarah
        Morton Stephen
        Nicholson Sarah
        Widdop Samuel
        Marylebone 1a 711

.. but having trouble pairing these off on the 1861 census.

i missed that. would be hard to sort, both being sarah's after all.
          very intriguing.

i guess unless you can find him on the census, the marriage cert would be the only way to know if he was mine.
