Sample Census ?

Hi all
I have found one of my rellies on a sample census on Anscestry does this mean they do not have an original for me to look at

Are you talking about the 1851 UK Census Sample? If so it should also be on the full Census.

I've got one of those in 1851, just have to trust the transcript, no original there, really frustrating!

There IS an original census for 1851, I do wish that Ancestry would sort this out, quite what their thinking is by having it showing is quite beyond me.

have you seen whether the county you need is on findmypast?
if so, you could see if the person appears there.

All mine are only coming up on the sample 1851 now. They used to come up on both 1851 (sample and ordinary)
