  • How do I fix this please

This message comes up every time I switch on my computer,

c:\programme\symantic.c\s32event1.dll an installable virtual device driver failed d11 vitialization.
choose `close` to terminate the application

I haven't a clue what it is or what to do, any help would be great.
    Thank you.
    Margaret.

Dave says Symantic is usually Norton, try uninstalling and then reinstalling it and see if that sorts the problem.

Hi Wendy, thanks for your reply, I downloaded BT's new
net protection as BT will not be using Norton any more.
they said I needed to download theirs or I would not be protected.
      Thank Dave for his advice.
      Margaret.

If you have Norton still on your PC Margaret you will still have to uninstall it.

When you got the MacAfee from BT the old Norton should have been removed. I seem to remember I had to do this manually with the 'Add/Delete' programs tool.

Hi, Norton seems to have been uninstalled it is not in my
programmes, just this LiveUpdate3.2 Symantec Corporation
and also a LiveUpdate Notice Symantec.
shall I leave them alone ?

Margaret - anything that says Symantic belongs to Norton so you can uninstall it now have the MacAfee.

Hi Black Widow, it is a bit of a job to get rid of it, I uninstalled them and when I came on this evening they were showing again ??????? I suppose all will settle down in time.
Thanks for your input, it helps to know others have had a job to get rid of Norton.
