    ea_libprisoners - Buckinghamshire County Council

Sorry - put in the surname PARROT and click on the only entry.

Poor chap, his family must have been hungry.

Now you can commit horrendous crimes and be out in a flash.

    I love this one:

    ea_libprisoners - Buckinghamshire County Council

Enter Cannon in the surname box.
Click on the last one - Thomas Cannon.

    Destroying his own clothes?

Who cares? Or perhaps that meant he was naked. :D

Wish someone would do that for Springfield prison, so I could find out why my g3 grandfather was in there.

You do have to feel for the PARROT Family.

Some were not locals - George Page born Northamptonshire - on tramp, previously convicted of vagrancy at Norwich and Wandsworth. Emma Andrews age 20, born Islington, convicted Indecency etc.

There's photos too !! (and some have parents names) Wish some of mine were here.

The photo of the poor Parrott chap, made me feel sad.

I looked at this one because I had some Parrotts from Waddesdon, but it's a common name in Buckinghamshire.

Wouldn't it be a surprise to be confronted with a photo of your own ancestor.

(Got Thomas Jarvis in Petworth Jail in at the 1861 census though)

Type in Philip Evans - it has great detail and a picture and mentions Baron Rothschild (we often go to the NT property Waddesdon Manor).

I could look at this all night!

Thankyou for that website Elizabeth, it was brilliant. Unfortunately none of ours, but what a find for some lucky people, especially if they have a photo as well.

Sad reading though, although I did like the one who was 'drunk and riotous' - it conjurs up all sorts of pictures.:D
