  • Help with occupation

I have just spent the best part of 3 hours Googling trying to work out what an occupation is on the 1871 census

Can anyone have a look for me please?

RG10/1561/63/8 3rd person from the bottom, John Butler.

I have an idea what the first word is and the start and end of the second word, but I don't want to influence anyone's judgement. ;)

Looks like "Town Missionary" to me?

        Thank you both.

I was sure it was Town for the first word, but those ff's threw me.

Not actually an f but a long S (no cross-stroke).

No worries. I came across one in a census yesterday (long s followed by short s).
