  • Is there a searchable index of Teachers c1900-1910

Please can someone tell me if there is a searchable index of Teachers/Teacher registration for around 1900?

If not, does anyone know where I can get access to this information?

    Many thanks Anne

It doesn't seem to be a comprehensive list - I've never found any of my teachers there.

I don't think it was compulsory to be qualified to be a teacher in those days - in fact, I don't think it is now either if you teach in a private / public school.

            Thanks Ladies for the information

I'm helping to put together a display for one of our school's centenary celebrations.

Sue, I'd really appreciate a lookup

Laura Alice Goulden (nee Berry) b 1868 Manchester, m 1904 Barnet, London

I know she taught at Garfield School in New Southgate and was then appointed head of Hazelwood in 1908, both schools are in North London.

I believe before this she possibly taught in Handsworth, Birmingham.

Any information would be gratefully recieved.

            Anne
