Could it be weekly nurse? Not sure though.

I think it must be Monthly, although the letters in the middle don't look quite right!

Thanks, I though it looked like Monthly at first but what the 'eck' is a monthly nurse

Have been trying to find her again on the 18651 census but cannot bring her up.
          I have a ref of H0107/2035 FOLIO 241-243
Think she is on the third page if anyone wants to have a look at other writing on the page.

A monthly nurse was a nurse who looked after the mother and baby for the first month after childbirth.

              Thanks Kate.
Strange, I thought this family would not be able to afford a nurse
A daughter was born May and mother died August, of Erysipelas and pneumonia and Hannah was informant of mother's death.

I've seen monthly nurses with all sorts of families, including ones who I wouldn't have thought could afford it. Or ones where I would have thought the family would have helped - there are usually plenty of them around (family that is)!

Unless I'm reading it wrong, she's head of household, so isn't actually employed by anyone on the day the census was taken, that is just what her occupation is, when she is occupied, lol.
