Just found this if anyone's interested: New Zealand's Blue Books 1840 To 1855 Now Online
A detailed insight into times past is revealed in this country's Blue Books 1840 to 1855 which are now available online, according to Archives New Zealand Chief Executive Dianne Macaskill. "All 24 books which are a wonderful source of information about the workings of the early New Zealand government have been digitised," she said.

Apologies if this is old news

If something might be useful, I'd rather be told about it when I already know, than not told and miss out as a result!

Thanks. I thought they might be like the English "blue books" which were early directories, but it says they're books of statistics.
