Taskbar query

In the notification area of my taskbar, next to the volume icon I have 2 little monitor screens which go blue when connected to the internet. Tonight there is a red X through them, but I am still connected. Just wondering what the red X means please? I have Vista.

Hi Stella,

The icon's usually refer to the network estabalished to the net, was you connected via cable at the time? I wonder if the greyed out icon was referring to yoru wireless network card which was switched off? Or at least that's what happens on my laptop.

Thanks Ashley. Yes - cable. It is OK now this morning, the problem seems to have resolved itself, but thanks all the same.
