  • Looking for a marriage

Can anyone help me find a marriage between John Anderton & a Maria? This is a different John to the one I've looked for on a previous thread, but his marriage is proving elusive.
In 1851, he is staying with his brother Benjamin in Kingston upon Hull - HO107 Piece 2363 Folio 699 Page 27. He is shown as being married. HIs wife Maria & daughter Emma are visiting in Brigg, where Maria is listed as daughter in law HO107 Piece 2116 Folio 260 Page 14.
I managed to connect the family, because on his gravestone, John is listed as being father of Emma, who is buried with him. Checking the IGI showed that her mother was Maria & then I was able to trace them in 1851.
Can anyone find their marriage and was her surname Deaton or not?

I haven't been able to find a marriage but I think this is Maria with her family in 1841 - surname Denton

Emma was born 1847 in Barton upon Humber, Lincs.

Thanks for the census ref, I will have a look.
Edit, have had a look & it does appear to be the same family, thanks Jackie. So it would appear that we are looking for a marriage between John Anderton & Maria Denton

Thanks Tracey, I had seen that one, although hadn't checked it on Yorks BMD, so wasn't sure if they had married each other, or someone else on the list. That is what made me wonder if her surname was Deaton, Peacock isn't far different I suppose.
I wonder why Jeanette is hiding :D

Of course I'll have a look at the marriage for you next time I go if you like Lynn ;) Can't see anyone in 1841 to fit the bill of Margaret Maria though :(
