I have discovered on a distant twig of my tree a Birth of a Boy in Cape Colony ( which I assume to be in South Africa)
His parents married in Yarmouth, Norfolk in DEC Q 1893 and their First child was this one born c1886 (Details from 1901 Census) in Cape Colony.
Their next child was born in c1900 back in Romford, Essex, UK
I would be interested in finding out the reason for the South African jaunt together with Birth information.Anyone able to help?
The family's details are
Father Archibald HAYMAN born c1870 Islington a Clothing Traveller
Mother Charlotte Mary A HAYMAN nee DANBY born London N.K.( anyone know what N.K. means)
First Child Danby A HAYMAN born c1896 Cape Colony
Second Child Pearl A HAYMAN born c1900 Romford Essex.
The family lived at 6 Hampton Road Ilford in 1901.
Any information or pointers as to where to look would be appreciated.
