  • Did Owen Mulligan emigrate?

Been looking at the Mulligan family and have a query about son Owen who was born around 1850. He is on the census for 1861 aged 10 then he disappears, I can't find a death for him either, therefore can only deduce that either I have missed it or he emigrated to foreign shores.

    Can anyone enlighten me please?

It is possible his names are transcribed wrong I looked for one of mine for ages and it was not until I posted it on here and Night owl found it for me the surname was transcribed wrong.
So you could post the details and we could look for you.

Could he have gone up to Sunderland to find work?

Well Gwen, I would have thought there would have been work to be had in the mines and I certainly can't find him in Britain.

Thank you. If you two are right about then he was born and died, that would only make him about 25, very young even for those days.
