  • Elizabeth Chatty ....

    1841 census HO107/1135/11 Folio 31 Page 39 Leamington Priors, Warks

    includes Elizth Chatty 30 Laundress + her children John 4 and Wm 6, all born Warks.

    Trying to discover;
    • was Elizth Chatty formerly Elizth Flowers?
    • is Elizth the dau of Sarah Flowers (also living at Satchwell Court) who was christened 1811 Nuneaton, Warks
    • the whereabouts of Elizth Chatty and her children after 1841

    Any info you are able to find will be gratefully received ....

    Thanks

      thanks for looking Jess ......... just wondering if surname transcribed correctly ??

      any chance you could take a look at 1841 image, please .... it appears to be quite an unusual surname - I've looked on FreeBMD and there's not many Chatty's about ..........

        I have done , and looked at freebmd - no, Chatty doesn't seem common, BUT 1841 does look like Chatty

          thanks Jess ... it's a shame 1841 census doesn't include 'relationships/status' ...

          the good news is ... I found Martha Abbott b1820 Leamington Priors

          the bad news is .... she's not one of the 'Flowers'

              There are a number of CHATTY (& variants) on the IGI - but mostly in the SW - Devon/Cornwall.

              Christine
              Researching: BENNETT (Leics/Birmingham-ish) - incl. Leonard BENNETT in Detroit & Florida ; WARR/WOR, STRATFORD & GARDNER/GARNAR (Oxon); CHRISTMAS, RUSSELL, PAFOOT/PAFFORD (Hants); BIGWOOD, HAYLER/HAILOR (Sussex); LANCASTER (Beds, Berks, Wilts) - plus - COCKS (Spitalfields, Liverpool, Plymouth); RUSE/ROWSE, TREMEER, WADLIN(G)/WADLETON (Devonport, E Cornwall); GOULD (S Devon); CHAPMAN, HALL/HOLE, HORN (N Devon); BARRON, SCANTLEBURY (Mevagissey)...
