  • Reading a Christening Record

Need someone's help who can read a Christening record ie has premium membership.

It may well be a long shot but there is only the one and may turn out to be my great great uncle.

Its for an Alfred Wilson under the England and Wales Christening record 1530-1906

I have no idea how old this is, but it might well turn out to be the Christening of Ruth's brother.

      Hi Yummy mummy

Do Christening records have the names of the parents (sorry not having seen one, I haven't a clue). If it does show some, I would expect Arthur Wilson to be the father. Thing is, I can't give you any concrete information just educated guess work. Elizabeth could be the mother. Have my doubts whether it would be worth looking outside the 1890-1920 window, as my Alfred was a witness at a wedding in 1939 and didn't you have to be 18? I am told the family came from the Yorkshire area if that helps.
