  • 1891 census help, please.

    Joseph Armes was born Dec Q 1890 (Mutford) in either Lowestoft of Oulton, Suffolk. In 1901 he is aged 11, with his brothers Adam and Percy in the workhouse at Oulton.

    In 1911 he is still alive and a boarder.

    He should be on the 1891 census but I just can't find him. I don't know the names of his parents (cert ordered).

    Help, please.

                  possibly the right marriage as 1881 has her as a spinster with same Major grandparents

                  Class: RG11; Piece: 1904; Folio: 43; Page: 45;

                  her parents are William & Esther, according to IGI christening

                  (I'm bored, can you tell?)

                    I've just spent several hours looking at the family. The younger boys were fostered by my gt grandmother and my Dad remebered playing with them when he was small, especially Percy.

                    I've just found out that Percy died in Basra, Iraq in 1916, as a prisoner of war.

                    How sad.

                      Certainly is.

                      there is a marriage (racing ahead here somewhat) Mutford 1859

                      Hindes William Ayton / Esther WARNER

                      not sure quite how that sits with Major grandparents
