  • Can someone find the image for this bmd ref?

I was just playing on freebmd and searched

"all types", surname left blank, forname entered as +Thorbon

In theory that should pull up any entry with Thorbon as a middle name, several of my rellies have it as a middle name and they are listed, it filters down from a maiden name in earlier generations.

There is also another entry but the scan doesn't show the name, so i can't check the entry. It's an 1853 birth but the freebmd scan of the index is typed.

    Births Sep 1853 (98%)

The image on Ancestry is also typed and that entry has been added at the bottom of the page.

PLEASE SCAN AT 300-600 DPI FOR RESTORATION PURPOSES. THANK YOU!

I'm not sure what you mean by "there is also another entry"??

Anyway.....I looked at the Ancestry copy of the 1853 birth record and it's as transcribed by FreeBMD. Erm.........but perhaps that's not what you are asking?!!

        Something definately not right here

All types search in the surname Fantanne produces just one result

        Births Sep 1853 (98%)
        -----------------------------------------

FANTANNE Antoine Thorbon St Lukes 1b 560
        Fantanne Antoine Thurbon St Luke's 1b 960

Neither scan shows an entry for the surname and both are typed pages from the index.

Looks to me as only the top half of the page is there Glen. Do you want the Ancestry image?

Those are two people's transcriptions of the same entry. The middle name is typed Thurbon on the actual page.

Glen look again at the scans. There's an asterisk between Elizabeth Fanson and Elizabeth Fantham which refers you to the bottom of the page where the entry for your Antoine Fantanne appears.

                Updated:
there are two options given to view the original:
                1853B3-F-0260x.gif
                1853B3-F-0260y.gif
The first only shows top of page but the second shows whole page.

                  Sorry Merry

I found the names i was expecting (surname is usually Elmer or Browning,) but this Fantanne surname is the only other entry with Thorbon as a middle name.

Got it now, two scans with near identical numbers, not the easiest thing to spot with two versions of the transcription

Wonder if she had orange skin?........you know when you've been Fantanned

                      (Fontaine, perhaps?)
