  • Very pixellated photos. Help, please

    Hi,

I've been sent some family photos by a cousin. He uploaded them to Yahoo Flickr (which I'd never heard of before).
I managed to save them to my computer by clicking on them. When I printed them, they are of a low resolution and very pixellated.

Is there another way of saving them and/or improving the resolution. As they are at the moment, it is difficult to make out defining features to allow my dad to hopefully identify the people on them.

I have adobe photoshop on my computer, but only really know the basics on using it.

    Thanks
    Helen

The Morralls - a set on Flickr

        Hope that works.

They don't look too bad on Flickr, but printed aren't too good. One is of 4 children. the features are basically 2 dark areas for the eyes, and one for the mouth.

If you click on each photo it loads in another page and there is a button at the top left that says all sizes, click on this and it will be a bigger picture. Then save and you should get a good picture.
          Wendy

PLEASE SCAN AT 300-600 DPI FOR RESTORATION PURPOSES. THANK YOU!

I've tried printing the worst of them again directly off Flickr. Its a 100 times better. I'll do that with the rest of them and then scan them myself.

I can't really ask the lad to do them again. His mother (who is my cousin's widow) took them with her when she visited him today.
I felt cheeky enough asking for them in the first place.:o

            Thank you for looking.

                Crossed with you there Wendy.

                I'll try that.
                The 4 children printed out at about 2" x 2 1/2"!

Yes, just wish I knew who their all were.:o

The old couple, with the scary lady are my gr-grandparents. My dad is the spitting image of his grandmother, but with less hair. I have that photo.
The man looking straight out of one of the photos is their son, my grandad.

Can anyone guess dates, by the clothes?

Yes. I've done some of that before with not to bad results.

Just realise there's half a cat on one of the horse photos! My nan was apparently a bit free with the scissors.

I hope the group photo is all rellies, although I wouldn't want to cross 'em.

Just looked at it again (I can see all of it now). I think my Dad's the schoolboy on it. It's either him or his younger brother.

You need Barbara or Don for dating
Their lights are not on :(

Best idea is to start a new thread asking for your pics to be dated

                            Thanks Rachel.

                            And thanks Britec & Wendy.

I've now got decent copies to start playing around with.
