  • Hunt the wife

FreeBMD and Ancestry FreeBMD both give only the husband's name for a marriage. Does anyone have access to an alternative source of information that would give the wife's name? I only have her first name from later censuses. The details I have are:

    Thomas White WALDRON
    N. Aylesford q3 1865 vol. 2a page 515.

The wife's first name from later censuses is Frances.

I've looked at the image and it matches the above details.

    Many thanks.

Image looks like page 515, so probably your missing wife!

        There is a Frances Vane 2a 525 and a Frances Baker 2a 520.

I will look at the originals and see who is mistranscribed

Way-hay I think you've got it. They had various Wood visitors in some of the censuses, so I had sort of pencilled in Wood as the surname. I'll have a look at the Ancestry and FreeBMD images. Thanks a bunch, Elaine.

Edit: and thanks to the others as well.

Second edit: I managed to submit a correction to FreeBMD but it wouldn't let me explain properly.
