  • Holy Trinity Church, Heath Town, Wolverhampton

    Hello all

I was wondering if somebody could please do me a big favour?
I found on FreeReg a burial for my GGGGrt Grandfather James George Hill in 1908 at the above church.

I contacted the church and they say that the only James George Hill that was buried there was buried in 1910 and a different age.
I also asked the church if they had James's wife buried with him who died in 1904 (Rosa Hill) but they have no record of her.

I was wondering if somebody who lives local could perhaps check the burial index for me if its not to much trouble?

    Sorry to be cheeky.

    Many Thanks

    Danny

They may have had the burial service at the church but the actual burial at a local cemetery, or a cremation. Try contacting the bereavement service of the local council.

      Thankyou Mary

What exactly do the bereavement srvice do? Do they hold info on all burials?

I think they usually hold burial indexes for the cemeteries and crematoria run by the council. Some of them charge for giving information, but not all. It's worth trying a phone call or an e-mail.
