  • can you find a death?

for Edith Mary Hatch before 1951? I had been trying to find a death for gg grandad William Robert Hatch but couldn't find one on freebmd or IGI so I trawled the ancestry indexes. I found a couple and sent off for one that matched perfectly. I received the cert today and I am sure its him as his age fits perfectly and so does his occupation. BUT the informant is an F Hatch not Edith? So did she die and did he re-marry? I can't find either!
Can you find a death for Edith or a marriage for William?
    Thank you

Are you sure it's not an E with the bottom stroke missing?

I doubt anyone will be able to find anything without trawling the indexes.

Did you get it from the local record office then?

Might be worth phoning them to have them have another look at the original which would have been handwritten.

I know this is a silly question, but does it say she is his wife / widow on the death cert, or could the informant be some other relative?
