View Full Version : Headstones from Pioneer cemeteries in Outback NSW.

We visited a few Pioneer cemeteries whilst on our Outback trip, and took photo's of the above, purely because they noted where these people had originally come from. Just maybe you may have a 'missing' rellie' and one of these will fit the bill. If so, apart from the one noted, we took photo's of the headstones which I am happy to pass on.

Forbes Pioneer Cemetery NSW

LITTLE Ellen Margaret born in Suffolk England - died 1907 aged 56
Also Husband Henry B LITTLE - died 1930 aged 79

CLIFT John Chas of Hampshire England - died 1921 aged 78

CANNON William - of Kings County Ireland - died 1893 aged 77
Margaret - of Kings County Ireland - died 1912 aged 81

GILMARTIN Hugh - of County Leitrim Ireland died 1903 aged 60
Thomas - of County Leitrim Ireland died 1914 aged 63 - (brothers)

Bourke Pioneer Cemetery NSW

RICHARDS Charles Howell - of Nottingham England died 1897? Aged 26
Stone erected by his 'loving wife Eva' (No Photo as the stone was too light)

McINTOSH James G - of Redcastle, Ross Shire Scotland died 1882 aged 41
(Who was killed by lightening on Jandra Station on his way to Qld with sheep)

Jandra Station was a large property and the men were droving sheep, possibly to find grass if there was a drought, or to sell the sheep, in Qld.

STUART Catherine Eleanor Stuart - beloved wife of the late Dr R.J.S.Robertson
born Cong. Co.Mayo Ireland died at Bourke 1893 aged 58

GREEN John - b.Cheshire England 5th November 1827
Died Greendale, Bourke NSW 29th July 1888 in his 61st year

Broken Hill NSW

NUTT Thomas Harwood - of Sheffield England - died 1887 aged 42

DESMOND John - of Co Cork Ireland - died 1889 aged 30
Erected by his brothers Daniel and Timothy Desmond

White Cliffs NSW

FINCH James - of London - born 1839 - died White Cliffs 1902
And Elizabeth Finch - b.Ballarat 1860 - d.White Cliffs 1932 aged 72
