  • Can you put a tv prog on disc?

OH missed the second episode of red riding. It can be watched on the C4 catch up but OH cant sit on this chair watching a puter - so he said why cant I copy it onto a dvd disc from C4 and then put it in the dvd player.

Well, Im sure you cant do that but I thought Id ask in case Im wrong please?

No not easily because of copyright restrictions. Even iplayer can be a struggle at times.

No repeats are listed on Digiguide.

The concluding part (3 of 3) is on Thursday 19th at 9PM.

Thanks Dave. I guess it will be shown again at some time.

I thought the atmosphere in last weeks was brilliant, plot a bit weak but it was so well done and some great acting.

If you have virgin media you can watch it on catch up tv for free in the comfort of your own frontroom.

No we dont have any thing like that Britec - lol, it took me ages to persuade OH to even have a freeview box. Then the change over to flat screen telly with inbuilt freeview nearly gave him apoplexy.

Certainly was Brit - at one point the sofas were touching the ground where the castors had gone and the seats were worn out - but apparently were still serviceable. I bit the bullet went to Multiyork and bought two in a sale. He didnt speak to me for a week I tend to just buy stuff now and take the wrath for a week, he always comes round to it being a good idea in the end.

Another way, at least for the future, is to get OH to buy a personal video recorder, PVR for short. It's like video but without cassettes. We have a Humax one and it's great. It has two Freeview tuners so you can record two progs at the same time while watching a previously recorded one. You can even watch a recording from the beginning while the machine is still recording the end.

We tend to record progs on commercial channels that we want to watch. That way we can zap through the ads.:D

That would only work if you remembered to set it to record the programme, though, wouldn't it, just like a video recorder? It doesn't help if you've already missed the programme, does it?

Augustus, I believe Heather's problem was that her hubby doesn't want to "catch up" with the program by watching it on the computer, he wants to sit back in a comfy chair and watch it on the telly!

Hi, You cannot beat a comfy chair ....

Many of the newer PC's/Laptop's have a socket for connection to a TV.

I have just been watching a little of it and it looks very interesting.
