AVG free Version 8.0

I have just had a warning come up when updating my AVG Version 7.5 that this will soon cease and to download Version 8.0. Is this very difficult and has anyone had problems after downloading Version 8.0 please?

Well, I updated (or thought I did) to AVG-free version 8.5, but my desktop still shows me as having 7.5!! Where have I gone wrong please?

NO it should update it for you without that just follow the messages if you get any

when you are on that page Stella scroll down a little to the download its not the one on the right

It's OK Val, found it and did it , downloaded it and restarted the pc, but I am still AVG 7.5!! I give up. Thanks though.

My desktop icon says AVG 7.5 and also when I go onto AVG and look at Properties. I'll get my friend to see what he can do Val, Thanks anyway.

Silly Question Stella, but after you downloaded it, did you install it?

Oh dear Wendy!! I didn't see it ask me to. I just put a tick in the little box that said to close it on my screen after it had downloaded, which it did. There was nothing to ask me to install it.

Just double click on it Stella, and it will install itself.

Double-click on what Wendy - sorry to be so dim!:D It all looked as if it was downloading - took about 25 minutes, but it hasn't.

You should have a file on your PC that you downloaded. Did it prompt you where to save it?
