Hello all

My 5th Grt Grandfather was born 1805 in Westleigh Devon.
He moved to Cardiff just after 1844.
He was still alive on the 1881 wales census living at 7 Glamorgan St, listed as a Mason.
I cant however find his death, If someone can help locate his death I would be most greatful:)

Danny there's a death of a George Brailey Cardiff June Q 1887 on free BMD.

Hiya Gill

That does fit with his age and place.
If I purchase the death cert then it might shed more light on whether it was him or not.
Thankyou very much:)

The age for that death looks right - 83.

Hope the death cert provides confirmation for you Danny.

It's always worth having a go with the "Phonetic search surnames" on free BMD if the usual spelling doesn't produce a result.

Thankyou again Gill

I guess it could be very easy to turn Brayley into Brailey.

Hi Danny

Just to say it's probably Westerleigh, not Westleigh. I have some ancestors from there.

Hiya UJ

I did see Westerleigh but thats in Bristol and Westleigh is North Devon.

How far apart are Westleigh and Westerleigh?
