I am trying to find out the name of the wife of a Knight of the Realm (part of hubbys family) and looked up on Peerage.com his name and hoped it would give this information. I have found the date of their marriage, but it only gives the surname. She is known in the family as Geeta, can anyone think of a name it might be short for? I am wondering whether its short for Margaretta, off to check that now.

I have found the date of their marriage, but it only gives the surname.
Her surname will be alongside his index entry if they married after 1912. To find her forename(s) you just need to look in the same year and quarter under her surname. The volume and page number and district name should match and his surname will be alongside her index entry.

Lorraine, the marriage entry for his name will only give her surname, yes, but all you have to do is look up her surname in the marriage index for that same quarter and it will show her first name there.
For instance, if the entry you have found is Sep 1920 Bloggs, Joe, spouse's surname Smith, London vol 1 p 100
Look up Smith for Sep 1920, and go through the entries until you get to one with spouse's surname Bloggs, London vol 1 p 100 i.e. ref numbers that match Joe's, and her first name will be shown in that Smith entry.KiteRunner
