    I suppose its more than they charge on the GRO ???

      Extortionate - just hope people don't get caught out.

      Always use GRO online £7 with ref £10 without --- or local Register Offices which sometimes add a small fee for posting or searching.

        thanks its just that it looked so easy to order was wondering ??? it did say something about extra certs £10 but I could not find the charge for one

          Good grief, what a rip-off! I'd never even considered using Ancestry for certs as I always use the GRO, but it's useful to be warned!

            I can't see that it is any easier to order from Ancestry than from the GRO myself, but remember if you order through Ancestry, you will be paying them an extra £18 for ease of ordering!

            That should help you concentrate, lol!

              what I meant was when you find a birth or marriage on there you can order the cert from that page nice and easy ,but dont worry I wont be doing it .

                I think that's probably the idea! I wonder how many people just 'click here to order' because it is so easy. That's how Ancestry make their money
