    WW2 and before.

    Batch numbers of the British Army.

    When someone joins the Army they are given an Army number and this list tells you which Regiment they were enlisted into as each had their own batch of numbers to use.

    This is very helpful if you have someones number but don't know the Regiment - however they often changed Regiments at various times but usually the Army number stayed the same.
