When you know 2 people married, but the page numbers are different.

From Ancestry i have,

Name: Esther Painter
Year of Registration: 1862
Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec
District: Highworth
County: Wiltshire
Volume: 5a
Page: 35

Name: Joseph Stroud
Year of Registration: 1862
Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec
District: Highworth
County: Wiltshire
Volume: 5a
Page: 55

I have looked at the images and they look right, but not 100% sure about Josephs, could someone check for me please

Esthers mother Ann is on the 1891 and 1901 census with them, so unless there is another Esther marrying a Joseph Stroud, i have the right couple

I'd say either the 3 or the 5 were mistranscribed in page number

doesn't look that way though, looking at the images on freebmd.

he's deffo P55
she is P35

Its the same on the images Jess, the one for Esther is a definite 35 and the one for Joseph looks like 55

The page number for Joseph isn't very clear, but if you look him up on FreeBMD you will see that the district name is shown in italics with a message saying that the page number is out of range for the district - page number should be between 1 and 47. This means that either the page number or the district is wrong, so in this case I would say the page number is 35 but just hard to make out.

I think the entry for Joseph is incorrect.
If you check on FreeBMD, on the district information, marriages in Highworth for the December quarter of 1862 should be within the page range 1-47.

josephs is 35 its just the way the number nines tail is on it from above.
