I had an email from 1911 this morning and have just realised EXACTLY what it says.

"we have now uploaded 15.1 million images, which is 93% of the total. We hope to upload the remaining one million images (7%) soon."

OK, so that is a total of 16.1 million household images.

Please, someone tell me I am wrong, but I am SURE that the TNA originally stated the 1911 census consisted of "29 million householders schedules".

Can anyone put me right on this please? Would it have been 29 million INDIVIDUALS, do you think - otherwise we are going to be missing a lot of households!

From TNA News 13th January 2009

News | 1911 census launched online

"Thirty-six million people were recorded in the census taken on the night of Sunday 2 April, 1911."

"Over 27 million people's census entries - 80 per cent of the English records - are now online. A further nine million records of people from the remaining counties of England, Wales, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands, as well as the naval and overseas military records, will be made available over the coming months"
