  • Any suggestions?

I've just found Richard Davis (second from bottom)- Ancestry.co.uk

Any idea what he did?! And his wife? His son William on the next page seem to work for him as an engraver and my gt gt gf is the jeweller so I guess he did something similar but I've gone cross eyes staring at it and have no idea what is says!

    Thanks Clare

I don't go to Ancestry from the same browser as I use for FTF. What's the reference?

I thought it said Gun and Genl engraver employing 2 people.

with a superscript "l" in Genl (ie General)

Merry, you could be right about the Genl - but I can't get people out of the last word!

                Class: RG9; Piece: 2182; Folio: 92; Page: 35; GSU roll: 542931.

                That's the ref.

I'd got as far as something beginning with G but couldn't see what!
Got a nice unusual child's name to follow up now, so had a good morning!

                Thank you very much:D

I thought seal and 2 persons maybe rather than people, but I get the general idea.

That's because I read persons and typed people!

Found him in 1871 and it says "general" clearly there

                    Thank you all
