Can anyone read these names, please?

I have received a marriage certificate and I can't make out the names of the witnesses.


Any help would be truly appreciated.

The middle name looks like Henson or Hendon and possibly Henman for the top one??

Oh dear, they aren't easy, are they? My guess would be H J Kewman, C E Henson, and Mrs M Wheen, but they could be very different from that!

I thought that the middle one was C. T. Heuson and I thought the top and middle may have the same surname.

I was transcribing some marriages for FreeREG the other day, and some of the witnesses whose signatures were scrawled had their names rewritten underneath more neatly; I don't know whether the parish clerk or vicar rewrote them, or if they were told to rewrite them themselves, but it was very helpful!

I suspect that you will have to contact the reg office, or place where your dad married and see if they can shed any light with the witness' names

I think my descendants in years to come will have similar problems on my marriage cert. My signature is illegible and my mothers isn't much better lol

None of the names mentioned mean don't sound familiar. I haven't come across these names before!

I will contact the register office to see if they can help, but would they only have the signatures as well?

If it was a church wedding then their (the register office's) copy might have the names copied out rather than the signatures, but then you would only have the guess of the person who copied them out I suppose.

The marriage took place in a registry office. So I suppose they would only have what is on the marriage certificate?

My dad use to live in Lincolnshire, so I'm assuming they are friends of his.
