    Five possible children:-

details removed as they may still be living

Oops sorry, didn't think of that :o

OK, if you search on FreeBMD with Lakin as surname, Evans as mother's surname starting in 1912, five come up all in the West Midlands between 1913 and 1937; 2 in Kings Norton, 1 in Birmingham and 2 in Dudley.

Do you have their marriage certificate? That would give Harold's age and his father. There are only 7 Harold Lakins on the 1901. One is married in West Bromwich and there are 3 single in the West Midlands but would need more info to narrow it down.

The is a birth for a Harold Edwin Lakin 1884 Birmingham but nothing seems to match him on either 1891 or 1901.

Edit: My mistake it's 1894, off to look again.
