I am trying to find where my g,g,g grandad came from in Co Mayo, Ireland. We had thought that there was a connection to Foxford, but now the 1911 census has told us that Micheal Hannan was born "Alley M Hugh" Co Mayo, Ireland. I know that Micheal was unable to sign his name on documents so I doubt that it was actually him who completed the census returns. The writing is however clear and readable. Does any one have any suggestions? anyone from Co Mayo who can tell me how this should actually be spelt and pronounced? Any help would be most appreciated
