The LMA search engine has defeated me:o! I'm trying to find out if the LMA holds any records for this place (from 1871 census) "Central London District School for the Children Chargeable to the City of London" it was in Hanwell, Middlesex but housed poor children from the City and East London. There is info about it on the Workhouses website -apparently Charlie Chaplin was in there and Charles Dickens wrote about it but I can't find out what info the LMA have about it:(. Can anyone else find anything, please?

Thanks Jackie - I've got there in the end! I tried all sorts of combinations but obviously not the right ones! It looks as tho' they might have the original registers for the years I'm interested in - fingers crossed that they'll also tell me the names of the parents so I can work out whether they're mine or not!
Thanks againSue
