  • Set Associations

I have Vista on my laptop with Windows Mail & I can't open some attachments I get to e-mails. I get the following - This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel".

I've searched high & low for the Set Associations control panel & just go round in circles. Can SKS give me an idiots guide on where I should look or explain how I can set associations please? I've got an apparently important message from my agency. It's about work so I'd rather not forward it to my work e-mail.

    Thank you.

Yes, click on the Start button and on the right hand side of the thing that pops up, near the bottom, there is "Default Programs" (just below Control Panel and above Help). Click on that, and the second choice is "Associate a file type or protocol with a program".

Many thanks Kite. I knew it would be something simple.
