  • Very Strange any ideas?

My great great grandmothers brother Lewis James Pink, his registration details are as follows:

    Births Dec 1887

Pink Lewis James Petersfield 2c 137

That's all okay but there are two others same district, same page and vol number, same year and quarter

    Pink Edward Petersfield 2c 137
    Pink Annie Petersfield 2c 137

Does this mean Lewis was one of triplets and only one to survive? Cannot find death certs for them, and he was certainly baptised alone.

    Anyone come across this before?

It doesn't necessarily mean they were triplets, it could just be a coincidence, but it seems unlikely. However, if a child is born alive a death cert has to be issued, so the other two evidently didn't die in infancy.

Thi looks like it might be Edward aged 3 in 1891, he was son of Thomas and Theresa Pink and was in Colemore, Hampshire

Thanks, looking like it is just a coincidence then them all being on same page. I don't believe I've come across that before.

IGI has this baptism for Annie (Colesmore is in Petersfield registration district). Do the parents match Lewis's?

          Annie Maria Pink
          Christening 20 Nov 1887
          Parents: George & Arabella

There may be a family link further back.

There were only 9 pages of birth registrations in Petersfield that quarter, so registrations over something like a 10 day period would all appear on one page. As Pink seems to be a fairly common surname in that area it is probably just a coincidence that three families registered births within a few days of each other.

Annie, daughter of George and Arabella who Nell found (above), is also on the 1891 census, at Mannor Cottage Colemore, though listed as Anne Maud

Lewis parents were Henry and Mary Pink, so no definently not his siblings. May be distant cousins perhaps, just not come across this before suprising really it doesn't happen more often in the small villages.
