Covering two historic counties (Selkirkshire and Roxburghshire) lies the parish of Galashiels. I have found quite a bit of historic detail for many of the churches and posted the information in the wiki but some still elude me.
In the 1880's there were several church and chapel buildings within the town;
Ladhope church, constituted in 1855
The West church, constituted in 1870
Galashiels Free church, built in 1875
The West United Presbyterian church of 1880
The South United Presbyterian church, opened in Aug. 1880.
Evangelical Union chapel (rebuilt 1872)
Two Baptist chapels, Galashiels (1804) and Stirling Street (1875);
Two meeting-houses of Plymouth Brethren;
Meeting-house of the Christadelphians.
There may be others i have missed (excluding the obvious ones like the Parish church).
What i really need is some clues as to where some of these buildings were located. The online historic OS maps for the area are a bit earlier than the dates mentioned (1860's), listed/historic building reports often give road names but road names are one thing i need help with.
