      Your chap was involved in:

      a.. CALENDERER / CALENDERMAN / CALENDER WORKER - operated a machine which pressed using two large rollers (calender) used to press and finish fabrics or paper

        Calenderer / Calenderman "Calender" operator. A machine used to press and finish fabrics or paper between rollers.

                  Years ago after leaving school and before starting college, I worked in a laundry and there was a machine called a calanderer which pressed all the sheets etc just like a big motorised mangle
