  • Ancestry Enhanced Viewer on Vista

Just got myself a new laptop which runs Vista, when I tried to install Ancestry enhanced viewer I had a problem.
Ancestry had a workround by installing the dll file direct in to the plugins folder on firefox.
Now after following the procedure all I get is a blank viewing area when trying to view a census page.
Anybody got any ideas on how to fix this
    Thanks

    Switch to the basic viewer!

When you view a census image you will see an OPTIONS tab - click on that and select Basic Image viewer.

It is possible to instal the Enhanced Viewer but it does cause a problem with Vista and Firefox. I only ever use the Basic viewer - much faster and more than adequate clarity of images.

      Thanks Elaine,
PC just crashed firefox twice when trying to view via the enhanced, but followed your advise, appears to be OK! fingers crossed.

And if you do ever need to use the enhanced viewer for a particular image, just go on Internet Explorer.
