ok... so the person with this job.... could he have been the Director of a Gold Mine?
I have found a photo that says:
"Joseph Holt - Director of the Queen Cross Reef Gold Mine Co of Charters Towers, Queensland. 1922"
Looking at my Holt line there are a few Josephs in the one family that are miners. I am pretty sure of who it is as one of them died in 1922, and the man in the photo looks nice and healthyI’m no genealogist …
Until this year I spelled it “GeneOlogist!" ;)

oh man... now I am really confused.
Here are the 2 families.
Living in Sellheim Street in 1903
Joseph - mining speculator
Elizabeth - home duties
Robert - miner
Living in Baker Street in 1903
Joseph - miner
Sarah - home duties
The bottom Joseph is the son of the top Joseph
I thought the "mining speculator" would be the gold mine director but he died in 1910 and the photo was taken in 1922.
Could his son (the 2nd Joseph, who dies in 1922) have taken over his fathers job as director?
In 1919 Joseph is still listed as a miner living with Sarah in Baker street.
He dies aged 52 which fits the age of the man in the photo
