  • Best Applications to use?

    Hi everyone,
I saw some of your amazing work and got a bit inspired. I was just wondering which applications you used. I have photoshop elements 7, would that be useful? Also could anyone recommend any good plugins or tutorial websites?
    Thanks,
    Craig

Photoshop Elements 7 would be great!

I'm finding this book really helpful: The Photoshop Elements 5 Restoration and Retouching Book: Matt Kloskowski: Amazon.co.uk: Books
It was written for Elements 5, but the techniques work in newer versions too.

There are lots of tutorials on the Internet - just try googling something like photoshop elements restoration tutorials.
RetouchPRO is a useful site for tutorials, and it also has a forum. Here's the direct link to the restoration tutorials on RetouchPRO: RetouchPRO Tutorials

This might be a bit advanced to start with, but once you get into the hang of it, have a look at these video tutorials.

You'd be best downloading the HD versions as you can really see it properly then...

There are lots of Elements tutorials for all kinds of things here: Photoshop tutorials: Photoshop Elements tutorials

And more on restoration techniques here: http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/pse...p_Elements.htm

This looks useful too for some basic techniques: http://www.which.co.uk/advice/photos...tion/index.jsp

I have Elements 6, so I'm not sure what the options look like in Elements 7, but can you go into "Guided Edit" mode when you're in the Edit program? In Elements 6 the "Guided" option appears under the Edit tab. In "Guided" mode, it asks you what you want to do, and then guides you through how to do it.

Thanks, i'll check out the guided option too. I only got it a couple of days ago so haven't really had a play around yet. Craig

I've found some Elements 7 screenshots here: Adobe Photoshop Elements Screenshot 1 - TopTenREVIEWS

Looks like the same layout as Elements 6. The "Guided" option appears under the orange Edit tab at the top right corner of the screen.

              Have fun with it!
