        Ethel M Cottrell 1914 Sep qtr 6b 839 Burton, MMN Haskew

        It was for a distant cousin, she has a photo with the name on.

          Effie is also a name in its own right. It was popular in the 1920s and 1930s.

            Just to reinforce what Mary said - my grandmother, born 1887, was baptised Effie.

                If one of my boys had been a girl we were going to call her

                Elizabeth Fiona (Effie for short)!!! Think he's grateful he was a boy!!!!
