Australian ancestors - best resources?

There are some records on Ancestry for them.
If you go to Genealogy and Family History Records - Ancestry.com.au you'll be able to see partial details, but you need the Australian Ancestry sub to see full details and images. If your sub is due to expire shortly, might be worth getting the Australian one, which is a bit cheaper than the English one.

They would both have been eligible for a conditional pardon after 15 years, but being lifers they weren't eligible for a certificate of freedom and weren't allowed to return to the UK (on pain of death).
I can't see a death or marriage for Elijah in NSW, so he may have moved to a different State. Haven't tried William, as it's such a common name, but if you enter the parents' names you may find him.
